Pet Care Specialists

Healing Paws Veterinary Care is searching for a dedicated team of Pet Care Specialists for our new boarding facility coming August 2017. Both part-time and full-time positions are available.

Pet Care Specialists are responsible for the cleanliness and comfort of our patients and boarders.  The Pet Care Specialist’s observations regarding the appetite, eliminations, and attitudes of our feline and canine boarders are very important.  It is also imperative that the Pet Care Specialists have an acute awareness of animal behavior and interactions for the safety of themselves and the boarding animals.

Daily tasks of Pet Care Specialists include, but are not limited to: feeding and watering dogs and cats, cleaning wastes immediately upon occurrence, cleaning the facility, accompanying pets on bathroom breaks, accompanying pets during play group sessions, daily recording of patients’ activities, cuddling pets who are away from home, bathing and brushing pets, laundry, attending staff meetings and trainings, and interacting in a pleasant and professional manner with the pet owners.  This position is for the person who loves both animals and people, as when you know the pet owner well, you will do a better job of caring for their pet’s individual needs.

It is imperative that the Pet Care Specialist be on time to work, attend to his or her duties in a regular, orderly calm manner, and have a neat, professional appearance with a positive attitude.   This position requires self-motivation, desire to follow instructions completely, neatness, and an eye for detail and cleanliness. Kennel assistants need to be able to lift up to 50 lbs unaided and be able to stand for most of the day.  Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.  Shifts will be scheduled on a monthly basis to allow for planning of personal activities.
