HEALING PAWS VETERINARY CARE
Our Promise To You
Our purpose is to create a better quality of life for our patients and our staff and we mean it! We know that you work in the veterinary profession because you are smart, and talented and want to make a difference in this world. Your quality of life is about your life outside of work but also your time at work. You want to grow, learn, be empowered, and work with team members who share your dedication to providing excellent care to both patients and clients. How do we create a better quality of life for you? We give you that cherished time outside of work and while you’re with us we remember who you are. You are an individual that means so much as a part of our team, and we work together with you, our clients, and each other to meet the same shared goals.
What Quality of Life Means at HPVC:
- Core values that provide the very best for our staff and patients (check them out below!)
- A schedule that can be flexible based on your needs
- Leadership that values your home life equally whether you have children, furry children, or prefer to recharge with alone time
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance benefits
- Matched retirement savings (you’re going to want to be able to enjoy retirement when it comes!)
- Benefits that remember how hard you use your body – not just uniforms but excellent quality shoes and even gym perks!
- Your pets receive the same level of quality care that you provide our client’s patients – because you will be treated like a client and because we treat our patients as if they were our own pets.
- Great pet care and preventative health discounts
- Homemade lunches weekly made by our “clinic grandma”
- Education, education, education – we provide in-house training regularly and encourage our team to take as many continuing education opportunities as they want.
- Paid sick time, paid vacation, and paid continuing education time
- A consistent promise is that you have the right to say no to extra shifts or staying late but you also have the right to say yes. We have several local ERs and set up our schedule in a way that we all get to leave as a team for supper, but sometimes a co-worker gets sick – if you want to help us out then you can!
- No double-booked appointments and all appointments are scheduled for at least 30 minutes.
- A Fear Free and Cat-Friendly certified staff that makes sure the pet’s emotional needs are considered every single time
- We never push a patient or staff member to do something they don’t feel comfortable doing.
- A team that doesn’t care what fantasy color your hair is, how many tattoos you have, or if you prefer to knit and read with 3 cats on your lap at the end of the day – we are going to love you and have fun working with you.
- Leadership who believes in learning your strengths, learning your communication and appreciation styles, and learning how you want to grow, and then using that information to make your position and day the best that it can be!
- Lots more – we like to be creative – tell us what you are looking for!
Our agreed upon (and signed upon joining the practice) Code of Culture:

ANIMAL HANDLING AND COMMUNICATION COMMITMENT
We commit to providing a safe environment for the Healing Paws Veterinary Care patients. We will actively observe their body language and respond in a kind, non-threatening, respectful manner. We will not scruff or hit any animal. If a patient can not have a procedure performed without significant strength-based restraint, we will stop performing the procedure until a veterinarian can provide chemical restraints to keep that pet and the staff safe. We will use treats and gentle touch to reward pets when appropriate and use well-fitted and comfortable muzzles to keep the team safe. We will consider how our actions and tone of voice affect not just the animal we are working with but every other pet in the facility as well.
PROFESSIONALISM COMMITMENT
We commit to always conducting ourselves in a first-class manner inside and outside the clinic every day of the year as our mission is a twenty-four-hour, seven-days-a-week commitment to value our patients, our people, our community, and our world.

- Give clients time to ask questions.
- Treat your co-workers, clients, representatives and contractors all with respect and a smile

- Ask for help! You are your best when not over-stretched.
- Give help! Ask “what can I do to help” and look for ways to ease others’ task lists.
- Value each other. Titles do not determine the importance of a person’s voice in this practice.
- Know your wellness resources and use them- take care of yourself and then you can care for others.

Veterinary Technician
Are you ready for a change?
Are you ready to lead a growing patient care team? Do you find cats magical and full mouth dental x-rays necessary? Do you enjoy the responsibility of providing high-quality care? Over the last year, can you say that you felt proud, respected, and acknowledged? Are you making a difference for both your patients and your team members? We think that you would really shine at Healing Paws Veterinary Care!
Healing Paws Veterinary Care’s promise is to provide a thorough and kind experience to pets and owners alike and we love living up to that promise. We are a privately owned, spa-like practice that doesn’t just talk about our values, we believe in them and live by them! Pets and team members feel less stressed and enjoy their experience with us. (Okay, things like enemas and orthopedic radiographs aren’t enjoyable — but we sedate for those, and dog nail trims are not a service that we provide!) Our practice owner is incredibly passionate about feline medicine and diagnostics as well as dentistry so we get to experience a lot of gratifying cases where pets whose owners didn’t realize they were in pain are now pain-free. We don’t double book our 30-minute appointments, we listen to each other and our patients, and we believe in the empowerment of every team member. With Healing Paws, you’ll find that vet med is fulfilling, rewarding, and joyful!
We really pared down over the pandemic as we were focused on continuing to provide quality without stretching our team members beyond their limits and we are ready to start growing again. With growth comes the need for people. Great people. People who love what they do and love where they do it. We believe in our team. We believe that how we treat people and pets makes a difference. When you join our team, you will be supported and given the opportunity to learn and grow. You will also be asked to lead your team members in providing excellent care as they support you and you support them. We are problem-solving and education-based because clients and their pets deserve both answers and solutions that work for them. Our staff is happy, and our clients are happy — that combination means healthy and happy pets – the goal that we all share! There’s nothing quite like the feeling of knowing you helped a pet and a person have a better day.
A few of the ways a technician uses their skills at Healing Paws:
- Be an advocate for both pain and anxiety control for your patients (all team members are Fear Free and Cat Friendly certified)
- Patient admission – helping clients understand what their pet will experience and portraying the value of our services
- Patient care (from IVC placement and giving injections to laser therapy and recovery monitoring)
- Inducing, monitoring, and managing pets under anesthesia
- Dental scaling, polishing, sealant application, and taking full mouth dental radiographs (you will have someone monitoring anesthesia while you perform these tasks)
- Reviewing and filling prescription refill requests
- Accurately maintaining medical records and entering charges
- Taking X-rays, performing phlebotomy, reading cytologies, performing cystocentesis
- Performing in-house laboratory diagnostics
- Triaging client care questions and educating clients
- Handling patients from the smallest elderly kidney kitty to the German Shepherd who comes to us because we know how to manage his pre-visit pharmaceuticals and read his body language to avoid causing him fear and stress
- Leading your assistant team in providing quality, low-stress patient care
We are looking for a full-time skilled and experienced technician to join our expanding medical team. Technicians who are licensed will have the opportunity to provide patient appointments of their own. Skilled, experienced non-certified technicians are welcome to apply and their skills will be utilized in the above ways within the limit of state board requirements.
The ideal addition to our team has that magic vet med intuition, displays exceptional communication ability, shares our passion for outstanding customer service and patient care, takes pride in their work, and has a thirst for knowledge and self-betterment. This position requires an upbeat, caring, and organized personality, a high standard of care, and finding a little joy in taking a great selfie with our patients! Every position in our practice shares these attributes, which makes practicing team medicine easier and more enjoyable.
Some of the rewards for working at Healing Paws Veterinary Care include:
- Happy pet owners with happy and healthy pets!
- Self-betterment and growth
- Being in a place where you’re supported in your efforts to make a difference
- An emotionally-safe and inclusive place to work
- Continuing education, health benefits, uniform and shoe allowance, pet discounts, paid vacation time and so much more.

Patient Representative
Do you love exam room work and are ready for a change?
Would you like to be the one who makes vet visits an experience not just an appointment? As a Patient Representative at Healing Paws Veterinary Care, you will be in the exam room where you get to make the experience a quality one for the client, the pet, and the doctor. You will literally make a difference every 30 minutes of your day.
The Patient Representative is a lifeline between the doctor and the pet owner. Pet owners matter, and as the sidekick to our doctor, you make such a difference to them! Through conversation and education, you ensure that owners understand what is best for their pets and that our doctor knows what the client’s goals are. When you create that communication bridge along with giving kitty head rubs and puppy snuggles an awesome thing happens — we have happy clients who comply with our recommendations and doctors who get the opportunity to provide medical care that you are so proud of. Staying in the exam room for the duration of the appointment, you make sure that our doctor’s notes and recommendations are recorded so that owners receive clear documentation that helps them understand exactly what their pet is going through and what they need. You will be learning every day through listening to doctor/client conversations and entering information into medical records. Reviewing those recommendations with clients you’ll build relationships as you bond with them and their pets. Our clients will learn to love you as a reliable, valuable partner in their pet’s life journey.
